Inspired by the American Arts & Crafts Movement, Janice McDuffie creates a limited edition of hand-thrown, hand decorated porcelain vases with a matte green glaze, fired to 2300 degrees in a downdraft gas kiln on the historic Roycroft Campus. Hand made one-of-a-kind products do not lend themselves well to mass marketing techniques. Like buying any fine artwork, these pieces should be seen and used to be fully appreciated. This series of Arts & Crafts inspired vases is premiered each year at the Grove Park Inn Arts & Crafts Conference in Asheville, North Carolina in mid-February. Prices range from $300 to $600. Janice Mcduffie was featured on HGTV's "Modern Masters", episode #511. She is also featured in Arts and Crafts Style and Spirit: Craftspeople of the Revival by Chase Reynolds Ewald. She also produced the Lobby Vase for Disney's The Grand Californian Hotel, in Anaheim, Ca. |
